C-GIWP
A Cessna 404
The Story
In-flight entertainment in general aviation was just starting to be heard of a few years ago. IWP's owner, besides wanting a new panel, also wanted something different for his aircraft: LCD panels in the cabin, with the ability to switch between watching a VHS/DVD movie and a moving map with passenger-friendly flight stats. No problem!

Unfortunately, we don't have a 'before' picture of C-GIWP's panel, but you can see the final product of our work below.

As for the special entertainment project, we installed a rugged VHS/DVD player and a Xenarc low-profile PC system running an embedded version of Windows 98, and a hardware bundle to amplify video signals to the LCD panels we installed in the cabin.

This allowed us to run moving-map software for passengers, and each passenger to be able to choose between movie and moving map whenever (s)he wanted. Three years before WestJet had this functionality, Brant Aero had delivered it in IWP. If you can picture something that's maybe unheard-of in general aviation, let's just say we've been known to get creative.
